The award, the bag and sword
Totally lived since his entry into Jerusalem, by the prospect of his impending death, Jesus, who knows that his arrest is no longer a matter of hours, expressed here, once more, His concern for His people. For if it puts an end to homelessness His ministry, Jesus' arrest is in itself another consequence. It also means disciples the end of an era. Jesus invites them to take stock and to testify, to account for themselves about their experiences with him during those three years that few, abandoning any security, any activity to keep them alive, they made the follow. Have they missed something? Their faith in him, in response to His call to follow him, she has been a disappointment? The answer is unanimous: Jesus has always been, as a Master at all times in all circumstances, at the height of his responsibility!
If up This the disciples were able to accompany their Master, Jesus wants them to know: He is now only going to take the path that lies before him. Peter had protested in vain to the contrary: the time of separation (temporary) is coming. One can, as friends of Jesus, follow him in many of His works and His commitments. Deprived of Jesus, they must be aware of the disciples of a sudden lose all the benefits inherent in His presence. In a privileged situation, they switch from one moment to another in one where the common man without Jesus. Jesus loses, they lose one who was the guarantor of their lives in three areas:
- the field of scholarship: they must now find themselves the resources for their own need.
- the area's shopping bag: while they lived in provisions of the grace of God, enough! They themselves must ensure they have enough for tomorrow.
- the domain of the sword: Jesus party, the protection of their lives is not otherwise provided by their own means of defense.
Servants of God, who live full time in many years in the service of Jesus, we realize how His faithfulness is the sole cause of our quality of life! Years-decades pass and another: the faithfulness of Jesus remains! With the disciples of the first hour, we can not, in respect of Jesus, make the same testimony: Jesus, You were and you're always up! We want for nothing! You're the one who provides for our basic needs more safely than could be the security offered a good job or the human defense weapons more sophisticated. You reveal yourself to those who are in Thy service, best employer, one who shows himself more concerned with the satisfaction Look in their basic needs. May honor and glory for you are made testimony that secular loyalty, as Master, You have shown to all your workers!
