Chapter 23, Verses 44-49

Jesus' death

Unlike the application of religious leaders and one of the robbers, Jesus will not descend from the cross, but he died there. The signs demanded by opponents and mockers will not be accomplished. However, far from it, God the Father will not let His Son dying and expiate the sins of the world unbranded visible evidence of His identification with His people. As the Father was present in a visible and audible on the coming of the Son in His public ministry: Luke 3.21 to 22, it is also when it was released. 2. The second fact is the direct consequence of the first. The effects of the perfect work of redemption accomplished by Christ are soon to be felt. The Roman centurion, who led Jesus to the torture and asssité the events surrounding His death will be the first to say: this man was not guilty, he was right. According to Matthew, his confession will go even further. "Certainly," he says, this man is the Son of God! : Matthew 27.54 . "The crowd was in limbo is no longer. She left, striking the chest. She knows it too: religious leaders have been mistaken. It is not performance that she had attended, but a crime, and the greatest of all: the murder of the Son of God!
